i'm getting my poptab necklace back out. i miss wearing it and getting strange comments, like "are those soda pulls on your neck?"
yes, yes they are. (recycling for the win!)
thank you to imogen for giving me an award! it requires the recipient to list 7 interesting things about herself and then pass the award on to other "kreativ bloggers."
i listed my seven facts here.
i award it to nicola because she's basically the most creative person i've ever known and she's a wonderful penpal and even though i gave this award to her last time (and i'm sure she's received it from other people) she deserves it again. she's quite amazing :)
does anyone else here read postsecret? here are a few of my many favorite secrets:
i highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it before. every sunday new secrets are posted, some happy, some angry, some funny and some sad. i think it connects people, makes us realize there are others who feel the same things that we do.

sock monkeys
I made these for Christmas for two of my best friends. I think they liked them, and it's one more craft I can add to my repertoire! I want to make one for myself now.

I made these shoes for an Earth Day art contest at my school. I got an Honorable Mention :] (and my school is HUGE so that's a pretty big accomplishment, haha)
And get ready, guys, cause very soon I'll be announcing a really awesome contest. Trust me, you won't want to miss it! :)

etsy
I just recently discovered etsy, a site where people sell things they make homemade. I spent two full hours looking through all the amazing wares then came to a realization;
I DIY things! I could do this!
So my new project is to set up an Etsy shop, probably selling shoes (though I'm not sure; I love all things DIY!)
Some things I'm lusting after:
Aside from homemade things, a lot of people sell vintage clothing! It's really great, and I highly recommend checking it out :)

lego headband!
I made this headband forever ago and never posted it! I get complements every time I wear it, along with a lot of weird glances and quotes like "Do you have legos in your hair?!". Props to The Wandering Alchemist for the original. I just copied hers =)
Also, Marc Jacobs did some stuff with Legos accessories in his 2008 Spring show.
Is that Ali Michael on the left?
Every time I go to the doctors I always, always take one of the stickers meant for little children. I think I'm in denial about the fact that I have to get older. I'm still a little kid.
These past few days in school we have been doing scheduling for next year. I'm going to be a SENIOR! :O Wow, the years go by quickly. I remember the first day of first grade like it was yesterday.
You know what really bugs me? When people take certain classes and don't take certain others just because of their QPAs. If you want to take orchestra even though it's not an honors class, gosh darn it you should take orchestra. It's the same concept as people choosing jobs just for the money. I guess it's up to them, so I'll just worry about me. I want my life to feel fulfilling at the end, like I did something I really loved. On a smaller scale, when I graduate high school, I want to feel like I learned a lot about stuff I really had a passion for and enjoyed.

Craft Time!
I was very bored last week, and here are some creations that I haven't showed you yet =]
There are three pairs of shoes, and one belt.
Pair #1: for my cousin
Pair #2: for my little sister (I actually drew hearts all around the hippo, but I took these pictures beforehand, and I'm too lazy to go take another one. Also, the shoes have laces that I haven't put back in yet!)
Pair #3: for my little brother
Lastly, a belt I made. I bought an ugly belt at Rue21 for $1, and then I covered it with the Sunday comics. I wish the colors were more vivid, though. Oh, and sorry I couldn't get a picture of the whole belt. When I zoomed out that far, you couldn't see the details.

Jewelry Hanger

This past week, I realized that my jewelry was a MESS. It's been lying all over my dresser for ages. So after thinking for a while, I came up with this lovely contraption! It's just a hanger glued to cardboard covered with black fabric. Then, I glued string across to hang my earrings from. I also used black thumbtacks to hang the necklaces from. Unfortunately, I ran out of thumbtacks, so I couldn't finish it. [hence all the jewelry is hanging on ONE HALF of the hanger.]
