i've got mail! (and other miscellaneous things)

I love Nicola, seriously. Her packages are the best ever :)
Am I the only one who absolutely LOVES getting mail? For me, there's no feeling in the world exactly like it. The excitement to rip open the envelope really raises my adrenaline or something, haha. It beats e-mail by a country mile.

Last week I went to Track & Field daycamp with my cousin. It was supposed to be for 6-15 year olds, but I snuck in anyway by convincing the administrator that I was a terrible runner, which I am. We were absolutely horrendous at everything (except shotput! I set the camp record for shotput!), but it was fun and kept us in shape, which was the goal.

What else have I been up to? Well, I've got two lovely books to read for Advanced Placement English next year, one of which I started last week. It's called East of Eden by John Steinbeck, and it's 600 pages. It's alright so far, but I'm only 1/3 of the way finished!

On a sad note, my sunglasses broke last week :( Luckily they were just cheap ones, though the fact that I can't seem to take care of sunglasses makes me rethink my upcoming Wayfarer purchase :/

Over at Extra Dressing on. the. Side, Ela is giving away a lovely necklace, so go enter now!

If you're a U.S.A. resident and haven't already done so, enter the Current/Elliott jeans giveaway below!

I always love getting mail, especially when my birthday is coming up ;]. It's a shame about the sunglasses, but at least they weren't designer or something. I've never read East of Eden, my AP English assignment is the Poisonwood Bible. Also, I would love the enter your giveaway, but the sizes are all too big. Oh well, I'd wear the jeans with a white pocket tank, some kind of chain necklace (I've accumulated several at this point), and my four inch CK heels, and if it got chilly throw on my motorcycle jacket.

East of Eden was amazing! You're going to love AP English next year (: Mr. Morris is the best and he really prepares you for the AP test.

OMG, East of Eden is seriously one of my favorite books of all time. I'd actually love to re-read it because it's been so long.

Just think of it as a really long, really juicy soap opera, because that's essentially what it is.

I love the photos. And I adore getting mail too. There is something so personal and romantic and real about mail, that e-mail just can't provide. Plus, you can keep letters forever, hidden away in a special place, while who knows what will happen to e-mails in cyber space one day? It's not real.

I get so excited too when mail arrives, even if it's something I bought on the internet. And I broke my sunglasses too the other day. They were just like those in blue. I really liked them, they matched with the only blue shirt I have. Woah 600 pages... you go girl! :)
Sincerely Louie, Ciao!

haha i love mail too :D
and shame about the sunnies but you could poke out the other lense and have them as lenseless glasses type things for days when your feeling a bit geek chic :) xx

i love getting mail, too. there's just something nice about finding something that the postman dropped in for you.

unfortunately, the postal service in the Philippines is non-existent -- so no such luck doing that here. i once had mail come in from a person who's from the same city (Manila) as me, and it took a week for me to get it!

Hey just wanted to let you know I gave you an award on my blog. :)

Hi Sophia! Thanks for your really nice comments about a custom necklace on my blog. It's made from a lightweight plastic, which I print on my illustration and then coat with a glossy doming resin.

Have a great day!

Ah, similar thing happened to me - I sat on a pair of cheapie sunglasses right when I was thinking about ordering expensive designer sunglasses! Then I felt too bad about spending so much on something that could break so easily! Ah well.
