i'm getting my poptab necklace back out. i miss wearing it and getting strange comments, like "are those soda pulls on your neck?"
yes, yes they are. (recycling for the win!)
thank you to imogen for giving me an award! it requires the recipient to list 7 interesting things about herself and then pass the award on to other "kreativ bloggers."
i listed my seven facts here.
i award it to nicola because she's basically the most creative person i've ever known and she's a wonderful penpal and even though i gave this award to her last time (and i'm sure she's received it from other people) she deserves it again. she's quite amazing :)
does anyone else here read postsecret? here are a few of my many favorite secrets:
i highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it before. every sunday new secrets are posted, some happy, some angry, some funny and some sad. i think it connects people, makes us realize there are others who feel the same things that we do.

i love my donna karan top. a lot.
one of my favorite things in my closet, i think.
since it happens to match so well, i think i'll take this opportunity to show you my sister's FREAKING AMAZING bedroom.
don't get me wrong -- i love my room (it's pretty whimsical too. i posted it forever ago, but will post it again sometime) but my sister's room is hardcore awesome. melovesit.

I made these for Christmas for two of my best friends. I think they liked them, and it's one more craft I can add to my repertoire! I want to make one for myself now.
in other news,
my $100 shopbop giveaway has ended!
and the giveaway winner is ....
ELA at Extra Dressing on. the. Side!
Her response was short and sweet, but sounded entirely genuine. I loved it :)
Ela: Shopbop should be getting in contact with you soon.
Thanks for all the entries, guys! I thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

This is the comfiest, coolest jacket ever. I got it in the Strip District (a big Pittsburgh outdoor market, basically) from an Ecuadorian vendor. It makes me happy :)
I also got a letter from Nicola a couple of weeks ago, but never posted it! One of my favorite mail packages ever, I think!
everyone should have a penpal. it's the coolest, most exciting thing :)
sorry for the lack of consistent updates. my internet has been out!
1) My Christmas was absolutely fabulous. A bunch of family came over, and I got the iHome that I've wanted forever :)
2) I got my drivers license the day after Christmas! I can finally drive places! The proctor was really, really grumpy and it made me quite nervous, but I somehow managed to pass anyway. Parallel parking is nervewracking!
3) My college applications are almost done. Just one more, plus a scholarship essay. I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
4) It's 2010, which is my graduation year! I feel like, for my whole life, 2010 seemed so far away. All the graduating seniors were "class of '02" or '03, or '04. "10" seemed like forever away, but here it is already!
5) I'm 17 today!
How was everyone's holiday break?
also: shopbop giveaway winner announced next post :) thanks for all the wonderful entries!

So sorry about the prolonged absence!
My computer has been stubborn lately, and WILL NOT access the internet.
I'm on my dad's now, and none of my blogging stuff is on it :/
Hopefully it'll be up and running in the next few days though, according to my dad :)

WOOOOOOOO GIVEAWAY! excitingness.
Ever heard of Marc Jacobs? Of course you have. Shopbop has given me the privilege of giving away a $100 Shopbop.com instant gift card to one lucky commenter who tells me which of the Marc Jacobs bags from Shopbop.com is her favorite, and why.
[[History of Marc Jacobs Bags]]
Marc Jacobs has received numerous honors in the fashion world. In 1987, Jacobs was awarded "The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent," making him the youngest designer to ever receive this distinction. His diverse, fashion-forward vision currently ranges from menswear to, of course, bags. Marc Jacob bags are unusual works of art, both stylish and functional, ranging from tiny clutches to totes. Even the more traditional designs are stand outs as they're recognizably well-crafted and constructed from fine materials.
Just tell us which of the Marc Jacobs bags is your favorite, and what you would wear with it.
The most inspiring comment will win, so show off your style! How will you make your comment stand out from the crowd as much as Marc Jacobs bags do?
COMMENT TO WIN! :)
edit* let me make clear that the prize of this contest is not a Marc Jacobs bag -- it's a $100 Shopbop giftcard to use any way that you please. You simply must discuss your favorite MJ bag in order to win the contest :)

[outfit from a while ago, when it was still warm out]
i'm quite sorry for my unexplained super-long absence;
you guys probably think i died or something.
i promise, i didn't :)
i've officially finished applying to one of my schools, which is exciting. senior year is quite stressful, and seeing an "application submitted" screen is just so gratifying!
I got two awards from Nicola a while ago and never posted them! Thank you millions, I appreciate them so so so much.
with the smile award, the awards rules are:
1. You have to put a song that makes you happy :)
2. You can tag as many people as you want, there is no limit :)
3. Say at least one thing about each blog you tag, that will make them smile, something nice about their blog that makes you smile when you read it! :)
1. A song that makes me happy would be "Whenever, Wherever" by Shakira. I'm not even that big of a Shakira fan, but that song makes me want to dance every time I hear it!
2. I'm tagging the following bloggers(you get both awards!)
--*ela: you have an impeccable taste in fashion, and your stories are so fun (and often funny) to read!
--*jennifer: your blog is fascinating to read because you make it so very personal. i love reading about your [fabulous] life :)
--*nadine: you're so perfectly fashionable, and your outfits are so creative! your blog is bright and happy and it generally makes me smile.

YESTERDAY WAS HALLOWEEN!
It's a family tradition for my dad to take my siblings and me trick-or-treating, and it was my last year! A few friends came with us this year.
The costumes took FOREVERRRR (I'm the Almond Joy) but it was totally worth it, as I think they came out great!
Then we counted our candy in the basement and traded it and stuff. (Notice my OCD-ness)
how were all of your halloweens? did you go to any parties, or watch any scary movies?

(please ignore my lack of shoes !)
I made a tumblrrrrr (follow me if you have one!) : click :)
I'm still going to keep this blog of course, since I love you guys way too much to just leave. I mean, "tumbling" is awesome but real blogging is still the way to be ;)
