polo / college

I snapped this quickly before going to Polo, a charity event that my mom chairs. It's basically a big polo match (yes, the guys on horses) with lots of food and fancy people. It's tradition to wear hats and dresses to polo matches, so here I am. My face looked ugly so I blacked it out.

I'm a senior in high school this year, and college applications are consuming my life! I have twelve schools I'm planning to apply to, and I can't seem to narrow it down! I have a question for all of you:
Do you attend college? If so, where? How many schools did you apply to?
If you're in high school like me, where are you considering?

Answer in the comments :)

stay in your same state so you dont have to pay out of state fees. Seriously, no one looks at where you went to school. I applied to three schools, and got into all three. I turned down a big name school so I could go to a smaller one for free. It all worked out perfectly and I couldnt be any happier.

I love that green dress. It's gorgeous. The purse is adorable too. :)
I agree with Eli, it is SO much cheaper to stay in-state (unless you get a huge scholarship someplace, or if you're lucky to be in the position where money isn't an option).
Do you know what you want to major in? Because if so, it may be a good idea to apply to schools that have really good/well-known programs for what you want to do...(that's what I did...I went to Missouri for journalism).
It might also help to look at cities. What kind of city do you want to live in?
Good luck!

I would love to go out of state despite the cost. I'm a junior this year and I'm thinking about the University of Chicago or Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. I also like Arcadia College in Pennsylvania. I haven't actually applied yet but those are the schools I'm thinking about.

Best of luck deciding on where to go and where to apply!!! I remember it being the BIGGEST choice yet and i felt so lost at times, because i didn't want to make the wrong choice. All i can say is follow your heart no matter what the outcome may be. If that's taking a year off to travel or just breathe...DO IT!!! But don't loose sight of your goal and where you want to be. Life comes at you fast and before you know it, you have kids and they're grown. Uhhhh...to be young and have the world at your fingertips. Sometimes i wish i could rewind the clock :)

I visited a TON of schools, and I just felt totally perfect and at home at only one of them... which is the only one I applied to, the one I went to, and the one I graduated from in June :)

Haha you really don't have to blacken your face:), it's pretty clothes...and what a nice occasion to enjoy the polo games..isn't it very exquisite game?

Oh I don't know about college because I applied directly to university...I guess the system is abit different in my country. I think you should narrow down your choices so that you can focus more...

I wish all the best for your preparation, and thanks for your comment!

You look lovely! Love the vintage dress.
I love going for Polo matches. The guys-on-horses-whacking-a-ball-around part isn't all that much fun but the after parties usually are. And we get to wear fancy outfits. ;)

Hey, I would love to help you with this, but I am in college here in Amsterdam, so that works a bit different. But choosing the right school isn't easy. You must check wich school matches with who you are!

Polo sounds kind of fun. Cute dress!

I did early entrance to university, so I only had to apply to one. I kind of wish I had gotten to go through the whole process of searching for and choosing schools, but I'm glad to have avoided the anxiety of applications. Good luck!

I'm only a sophmore but my school, even though it's a public school, is really intense about colleges. Teachers are already pressuring me to decide on colleges! I'm planning a on liberal arts college, though, like Haverford or Swarthmore.

Oh, who would've thought I'd want an apple so badly? Dying to try one now.

I highly doubt you could ever look ugly! Love the rich green hue.

Best of luck deciding where to go, it's a big decision so take your time when choosing...after you've been accepted to all :)

I applied all over the place!
Ultimately, I ended up at UMSL, which is about 2 hours from my home, but a completely different atmosphere.

I could of ended up in a fullride at U of Alaska or Northwestern U, or possibly somewhere up in Maine. I fantasize making a different decision, but whereever you choose, even if it's out of state, VISIT THE CAMPUS FIRST! You will know if it's right.

Ask whatever questions come to mind, no matter how stupid you might feel. You need as much information as you can get your hands on in order to make the most educated (ha!) decision, and can rank which universities you think are the best fit.

You can write me anytime with any questions, I've been through it all!
